Format: Paperback
Picking up from where the last book left off, volume two of Kashimashi continues to have the same lovely art and captivating storyline as the first. Asuta - Hazumu's male friend from before he turned into a girl - continues to provide amusement to this manga as he constantly worries about Hazumu and what will happen to their relationship.

The characters decide to take a trip to the beach which results in hilarity and cuteness all around. This volume contains some startling realisations for some of the characters, though in some cases, the readers are aware of this from the start.

As with the last book; there is the honorific guide and translation section that I rather enjoyed. There is also another lovely colour page, though when compared with the last book, it is softer and the colours are paler. Not that this is bad; it is actually quite pleasant, but it is worth a comment. It appears that the softer colouring(shown on the cover) carries on onto the third volume, judging by it's soft-coloured cover.

In this book, however, is a special containing thoughts from one of the other characters about Hazumu which is sweet and enjoyable as well as amusing. I can hardly wait for volume three to be released, and it is a shame that it says on Seven Seas' website that volume four is due in November. How will I be able to wait?!

To sum up; get this manga. It's one of the ones that shouldn't be ignored! I expect great things from Seven Seas' range because this manga is so good!

Excellent Second Volume! 9 May 2007
By Archmage Ryokosha - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Paperback
This is one those unique series in a familiar setting. While the idea of changing genders is nothing new to anime or manga, within Kashimashi it helps to bring a comfortable feeling to this story. Picking up right where Kashimashi Volume 1 left off, Kashimashi volume 2 helps to bring more life to the characters, and show more how important Hazumu Osaragi is to the story's heroines.

Throughout the entire Kashimashi manga series there are several underlying themes which more flushed out within this excellent second volume. The yuri love triangle which was first seen as forming in volume 1 becomes stronger as Yasuna, and Tomari seem to declare war against each other over who will gain Hazumu's affections. Yet it is clear too that Tomari at least while fighting for Hazumu's affections, is unsure of how to deal with her feelings. Though she finds herself loving her childhood friend Hazumu she also now finds him to be of the same gender as her, leaving Tomari very confused and frightened over her own feelings.

Meanwhile Hazumu's seems increasingly unsure of what is going on between his, her, two friends as they fight for his affections.

A wonderful entry into this series that has let me longing for more!
Currently unavailable! 27 Feb. 2008

Format: Paperback
The manga is very well written, but this is more of a notice for people interested in buying the manga.

Seven Seas is in the process of hiring a new distribution company and as such, the mangas are unavailable if the seller doesn't have any in stock. There is no ETA on when they will be available. Keep checking though!
