I have a pair of Karrimor walking boots which are excellent so I ordered these wellies thinking they would be similar quality. They are not. The insoles slip around inside, even though they fit me well, and they are not as comfy as my old wellies which lasted five years. These lasted exactly 2 months and split across the top on the toe-seam. The soles are cleated and look durable but show excessive wear after so short a time.

I was pleased with these boots on arrival, very comfortable and felt as though you were wearing trainers. But after a fortnight they started spliting, 3 on one boot and one on the other. I contacted Amazon who despatched a replacement pair which arrived 24 hours later, truly fantastic service! The replacement pair again only lasted a fortnight before splitting. These boots are really not fit for purpose, totally useless for day to day use walking dogs. If you want a pair of boots for only occasional use, buy them because they are so comfortable. But don't buy them if want to use them every day as they are a complete waste of money and you end up with very wet feet! I shall be hanging on to my now patched pair as I do Dog Agility and as they feel like trainers to run in they have some use, but I have had to buy another cheap pair for day to day use.

I have found wellingtons to be a necessary evil. Most keep your feet dry, at least till they spring a leak, but few are comfortable to walk in. Taking a size 8 and a half in shoes, I find I have to go up in size and this only seems to increase my problem with them. No matter what, my socks seem to always want to slip down and bunch near my toes. I have tried a variety of makes over the years with varying degrees of success, but my new Karrimor Unisex boots have proved to be a most pleasant surprise. Not only are they quite comfortable to walk in, they seem very well designed. As a daily dog walker, I meet many different types of terrain and they seem well fitted for a range of purposes. They seem more like extended shoes with the side adjusters so simple to use. The soles provide excellent grip which I find necessary when crossing burns in spate. And there seems little danger of me stepping out of them accidentally in soft, muddy foreshores or peat bogs in the moors nearby. This being the case, the only slight problem is in getting them off without some form of assistance. I would recommend one of the many inexpensive 'welly removers' to save frustration.

All in all, I am delighted with my new boots and find them an excellent bargain at Amazon's competetive price!

Bought a pair of these for daily dog walking through my local park. Initially they were waterproof but within a couple of months the heel had collapsed (promise I am slim and not at all overweight) and they were assigned to the bin. While they do look strong the proof that they are not is in the wearing. My advice would be avoid as they offer very poor value for money.

Have had these boots less than two months and they are literally falling to pieces. Within two days the lining had ripped at the heel and after a few weeks the boots split at the sides, letting water in. By seven weeks they are completely useless and I will be making a complaint to the company. Very dissapointing

Very disappointed, had to return wellies as they were not waterproof and split up the back seam, after a couple of weeks wear. expected better from such a quality brand.

UPDATE: Sadly, 3 weeks of daily wear has resulted in splits along the toe and heel seams. It's a great shame because they are extremely comfortable for daily dog walks. The super-flexibility of the rubber needs to be slightly decreased to prevent this problem. However, the highly efficient no quibbles easy-returns process more than makes up for the inconvenience.

I've had my Karrimor wellies for 2 days now and find them unbelievably comfortable and easy to take off.

My daily 4 mile dog walk takes me through very wet and muddy bridleways and so far, these wellies appear fit for purpose.

I was alarmed to read so many reviews complaining of the boots splitting at the seams and wouldn't have bought them if I had read the reviews first, in spite of the reasonable returns policy. However, after two days, my wellies appear fine and their extreme comfort more than make up for this possible outcome.

Two minor gripes. First: the colour in the picture looks almost black (my preferred colour). I assumed the boots would be a very dark green but they are light green - I'm not that bothered since they are already caked in mud.

Second: relates to the thinness of the soles, which makes every rock and stone stepped on, an uncomfortable experience. Adding additional padded insoles, has done the trick though.

Overall, I'm very happy with the wellies and glad I bought them.
