FRAMEFLEX midsole technology
FRAMEFLEX midsole tecnologies provides three-dimensional support, rigidity, and flex throughout the natural cycle of movement in the walking and running gait. FRAMEFLEX are specific to every size in the range and for both men's and women's lasts. Why compromise? Different FRAMEFLEX technologies provide different levels of function and are utilised differently depending on the design and end use of the product.
FRAMEFLEX Original: Walking boots where three-season stiffness is required. Offers full three-season support for use in trekking products where users may be trekking for long periods.
FRAMEFLEX Lite: Walking boots and shoes where two- or three-season stiffness is required. Offers slightly lighter weight and overall more flex than Original FRAMEFLEX.
FRAMEFLEX Super: New lighter weight version of the Original, improved performance using more expensive, lighter-weight materials. Used in X-Lite products where performance is not compromised by an overall lighter weight.
FRAMEFLEX Quest: Multi-sport and low-cut shoes where two-season stiffness and flex is required. Specifically engineered to partner and enhance the Vibram Quest outsole, which was developed specifically for Karrimor.
FRAMEFLEX 3D Tenacity: Multi-sport and low-cut shoes where two-season stiffness and flex is required. Engineered as a separate phylon compound within the midsole to minimise weight, enhance cushioning, and aid support.
Fit and last shape
The Karrimor last is generally recognised as a higher-volume last; which means the fit feels wider – more akin to the British and European foot shape. Karrimor sells boots and shoes in full and half sizes to ensure a good fit. Karrimor recommends wearing your boots around the house to ensure they fit well before wearing them outside.

Outsole
Karrimor use durable outsoles that provide high levels of grip. Karrimor uses Vibram outsoles on all its models, which are widely recognised as the market leader in outdoor footwear outsoles. Vibram outsoles can be replaced when they do finally wear out. Many of the Vibram outsoles used are exclusive designs Karrimor has developed with Vibram – exclusive to Karrimor designs and last.

I have owned LOADS of hiking boots but these are by far the most comfortable I've ever had. The day they arrived I put them on and went for a quick 2 mile walk. The boots felt as though I'd owned them for years! Size wise they are on the large side. (I wear size 12/13's and I found the 12's to be very roomy and a little wider than a normal fit.) They are warm but do not make your feet sweat. I have not worn them for cross country hiking or in heavy rain yet, and so I can't make any comments about how they would hold up in those conditions. But I have no reason to believe that they would let me down.
One last point, you can probably tell from the pictures that these boots are not navy in colour (as advertised), they are in fact a petrol/ dark grey colour.
I would have no hesitation in recommending them.

Before we start, I'm NOT a hiker or rambler, I just enjoy walking, taking digital images on the way, so don't expect a 'technical' write-up.
Having read the reviews on these boots from others here, I decided to purchase a pair as my old boots (although not worn out, were getting uncomfortable, and giving me blisters etc especially on the last 3 walks of 9.5 miles / 13.5 miles and 14 miles), enough was enough and it was time to buy another pair of walking boots ... and I'm very glad I did !
I did a short walk last week - (only 11 miles and the very first walk wearing these boots) - over a section of the Cambrian Mountains, approx 5 miles climbing up and over the mountain and another 6 miles down lanes and roadway, so the boots had a fair test IMHO. They were a dream to wear, extremely comfortable, assisted by the Karrimor Walker socks - (another 'must buy') - I purchased from Amazon as well. (Both items bought on 14 Feb 2010).
I did what my friend recommended and wore the boots for a few weeks around the house and short distances to 'break them in' and I can honestly 100% recommend these boots. I cannot at this stage report how they stand up to any wet conditions, but purchased a 'proofing' spray - (also from Amazon !) - in anticipation.
My old boots have been relegated for use on my allotment !

After 7 hours nonstop walking in 50 cm deep snow with gaiters I feeled some wet in one boot toe part. On this day was -5 C degrees. I suppose that wet went through folding line on toe part. This was first use and I forgot about using some water protection liquids. I trusted in event fabric. In the same time girlfriend with Raichle (gore-tex) boots doesn't feeled any wet (non applied with any protector too)
Now my boots are applied with solvent based protection liguid and no more problems. Some web resources for mebranes recommends to use only water based protections, but some only discuss what could be the right way.
I use 44 eur size (10uk), but those boots are a little bigger. I suppose-it's for using thick socks, because size 43 eur (9uk) for me was to small.

You get what you pay for

wont buy again
The soles seperated from inner sole within a couple of months, then leaked.
