Works well and suprsingly keeps good time for such big hands! You have to be carelf the hands don't bend in and catch on each other though.

We bought one of these clocks to fill a big space above the TV which is fixed to the chimney in our lounge. The unit itself was well packaged and fitting it was a doddle.
Less than 2 weeks later and the clock stopped at 2:45 - it had a brand new Duracell in it so I suspected the mechanism had died. Listening carefully I could hear it ticking so that was OK. The problem turned out to be that the minute hand, despite being counter-weighted, was well out of balance and the battery simply did not have enough ooomph to lift the hand. I removed the minute hand (easy to do) and found a couple of steel washers to balance it up which I stuck in place. It's been perfect ever since. If you buy one of these and it stops for no apparent reason you know what to do!!

I bought this as a large clock to fill a wall space in my office. It looks good and is a good size but is made from very thin Aluminium and so is very delicate. Even getting it out of the packaging bent one of the hands. The mechanism is just one of the cheap plastic ones that you see on 'craft' clocks everywhere inside a black Ally hub. It's OK but I expected better from the description.

Great clock
Bought as a replacement for a similar clock bought from next the price and quality is much better for this product, hopefully will be able to keep the kids away from this.
