Me being an Oxford scholar of politics found the book entertaining and I enjoyed it thoroughly. If anyone, young or old, should read this book, if they have an interest in politics. The language of it was complex and abstruse, but that is no challenge anyone who is determined to understand Marx's and Engel's modus operandi. Great book. My recomondations to anyone who is studying politics.

Volume 1 of of Marx's 3-Volume Work Called "Capital" 2 Feb. 2013
By Brian Wayne Wells - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Hardcover Verified Purchase
This is Volume 35 of the 50 volume series called the "Collected Works of Karl Marx and Frederick Engels." This volume belongs to the particular section volume of the section of the "Collected Works" which contains all of the economic writings of Marx and Engels. Indeed, Volume 35 through 37 are the last three volumes of the economic section of the Collected Works. These last three volumes of the economic section contain Marx's masterpiece, the 3-volumes of "Capital." This particular volume (Volume 35) is the first volume of that master piece.

Unlike Engels, Marx's style of writing is very dense and hard to read. "Capital" is the hardest and most dense of all of Marx's writing. Consequently, although Capital is well-known and is often talked about, I have the feeling that it is the least read of all of Marx's writings. Still when the "Collected Works" was published, Volume 35 containing the first volume of "Capital" sold out very fast. As a result, I did not obtain a copy of Volume 35 while it as still in print. For years, I had the entire 50-Volume set of the "Collected Works" except for Volume 35. Thus I was extremely glad when I realized that I could obtain a copy of Volume 35 through the world-wide search mechanism of Amazon.com.
