Karen M. Ralls, PhD, medieval historian and global religions and spiritualities scholar, obtained her doctorate from the University of Edinburgh, followed by six years as Postdoctoral Fellow and Lecturer (Univ. of Edinburgh, Celtic Dept.) and Deputy Curator of the Rosslyn Chapel Museum art exhibition (1996-2001) prior to relocating to Oxford, where she continues with specialist medieval research and, on occasion, TV/film outreach. A member of the Chalice Well, Rosslyn Chapel and Gatekeeper Trusts (UK), the British Association for the Study of Religion, and the Society of Antiquaries Scot., Dr Ralls has also completed a specialist Medieval and Renaissance art history course at the Victoria and Albert (V&A) Museum, London.
An international lecturer/conference speaker, noted author, specialist medieval researcher, historical tour guide, and workshop /retreat presenter, Dr Ralls' books include The Templars and the Grail (Quest Books), The Knights Templar Encyclopedia (Career Press), Music and the Celtic Otherworld (Edinburgh University Press & Palgrave/Macmillan NY), Quest for the Celtic Key (Luath, Edinburgh); Indigenous Religious Music (SOAS Musicology Series, University of London, with CD), and more; she is also a musician (flute, Celtic harp) and enjoys hillwalking along the Ridgeway, nr Oxford.
