This book explains how to make a range of mechanical toys out of card, but if you have never done this before, I would suggest you go for something simpler first to buyild up your experience. It is a pity you have to destroy the book to make the models, but if you take care, the results are very satisfying.

I found this book quite a delight. It is saturated with enthusiasm for the techniques of cardboard engineering, especially with relation to creative education, and the 4 models included in the book show the application of the methods explained in the book in a graphic and funny way.

this book covers paper engineering at all levels and would suit any teacher in secondary schools to look at art, maths, physics and so much more.

A clear and detailed approach so beautifully presented. No dedicated cardboard engineer can afford to ignore this brilliant explanation of the mechanics. I have never seen a more fundamental manual offering such a complete solution to the problem before.

Has kept my 11 year old busy over the summer! The time and care he has taken to make sure the models are built correctly means we don't actually have one to use yet, but what there is so far looks great and kept him occupied.
