I've long been a fan of these Taschen art books as they contribute to everything you could want from a 'Basic Art Album', as the product so suggests. I would say these are far from basic though as they're so in-depth and manage to highlight the artists life, whilst being easy to read and understand. The authors opinions don't disrupt Kandinsky's achievements as everything is described almost as if you were walking through an art gallery, and wished to hear an unbiased account of this individual.
Images are more often than not full page, but others only need a half. As a guide to this master of the Bauhaus school of art and someone who helped to define an array art movements, I don't think you can get a better value book out there. The 'Picasso' variant is equally as good.
