Product Description

You, as El Presidente, will first take control of the infamous island of Tropico during early colonial times and then guide it through the centuries as the world changes and moves ever forward. You must tackle the changing needs of your people, as well as opposing governments and factions, and thus lay the foundations for your own dynasty. As you move through your years in office you can promote members of your extended family on the island to positions of power: such as ambassador, commanding general or even Supreme Ruler, to ensure your legacy thrives through the eras. As your influence and wealth grows, so do the threats to your burgeoning island superpower. Can you survive both World Wars, prosper through the Great Depression, rule as an iron-fisted dictator through the Cold War and advance your country to modern times and beyond? From the 19th to the 21st century, each era carries its own challenges and opportunities

5.0 out of 5 stars "Viva El Presidente" 26 April 2015
Platform for Display:PlayStation 4|Verified Purchase
Tropico is a cross between Syd Meier's Civilisation and Sim City.
It's a huge game and therefore quite complex.
It has a many layered menu system giving you a vast amount of choice and control which makes Tropico a delight to play and
very addictive.
I believe it's essential to play through and complete the tutorial first. It took me 3 attempts to master the tutorial but it's worth it when you then graduate to the full game. (I made notes of how to access all of the important things).
The graphics are vivid and detailed and the camera control is superb and easy to operate.
You can succeed in more than one way, for example you can prosper by playing it straight or you can lie and cheat your way to the top.
This is an excellent game and i can't think of any sensible criticisms worth making.
Tropico has a "Sandbox" option which allows you to set up your own parameters and play the game on your own terms or you can complete
the "Campaign Mode". There is also a choice of difficulty settings as well as being able to turn on or off disasters etc.
For fans of this type of game i think Tropico is one of the very best i have ever come across and i heartily recommend it.
"Viva El Presidente"

4.0 out of 5 stars Nothing else like it on PS4 27 April 2015

This is the first Tropico game I've played and was uncertain whether to purchase it or not, but I'm loving it.
The PS4 currently has nothing like this so its come at the perfect time. The graphics are nice and detailed and the game runs smoothly even when you city starts to get bigger and bigger. Definitely worth picking up if your after something completely different to what's on the ps4 already.

5.0 out of 5 stars Being a dictator is such fun 25 April 2015

One of the best world builders finally makes its debut on a playstation platform. ..and it's fantastic! Graphics are beautiful and have some nice details.I'm not sure if there is a level cap for buildings but I have built so much and it's still letting me carry on . At 1st I was a little overwhelmed by all the things you can do and what buttons to press to get what but once you learn you find its just so simple..for a game that feels at home on the pc they have done a very good job mapping the controls to the ps4 controller. Just remember to get the fire station you have to upgrade the police station and that becomes the police and fire station in one :)

If you have ever played Tropico on the PC and liked it then this is a must... great graphics and gameplay. Controls initally take a bit of getting use too, but that might just be me. Unlike mnay games I can sit for hours n hours, day after day and not get bored of this

Tropico is the best city builder I have playied since Sim City 4. But this doesn't mean it is necessarily the best. Its highly addictive an once you master the diffcult control scheme you will be getting the most out of your tropico experience. But it is just a shame that is it difficult to start with. The diffculty of the game is also very hard for the first four eras. However when you finaly reach the modern era it becomes very easy.
I really like tropico and wouod reccomend it but i would wait for the price to drop to around £20 before you can buy the game. This way you will have money to purchase some of the many DLC coming for the game.

This is the same as the pc version with more complicated controls and tiny writing on the screen.
