5.0 out of 5 stars A rollercoaster of emotions, 1 Nov 2001
By A Customer
This film has managed to capture the very essence of first loves, past loves, marriage and children.
It delves into the pain and anguish of forgotten pasts and how they are dealt with in the present. The storyline is gripping from the very first scene right to the last.
Shashi Kapoor provides an excellent portrayal of the understanding and forgiving husband while Rakhi becomes her character of a dutiful wife with a past. Amitabh Bacchan is as usual in top form playing a slightly different role to his well known character of an "angry young man".
Kabhi Kabhi delivers tears, laughter, anger, romance, frustration and most of all, satisfaction to any viewer. It is still a hit today just as it was yesterday...

5.0 out of 5 stars miss it at your peril!, 2 April 2001
By A Customer
This has to be one of the all time greats of Indian cinema. It stars the icon of Bollywood Amitabh Bachan and the charming Shashi Kapoor. The story is loosly based on a love triangle or rather a hexagon - it charts the life of a poet (Bachan) as he tries to overcome the hurt of seeing his girlfriend marrying a rich and successful business man (Kapoor). The story has a great plot which is balanced with a fabulous sound track sung by Lata Mengashkar and the late Kishore Kumar. This is a great film, miss it your peril!

5.0 out of 5 stars Very poetic, graceful and inspirational., 28 Sep 2000
By A Customer
I must admit I have not seen this in a long time. But the songs bring back a lot of old memories. I reccommend anybody who likes the old Bollywood classics. This is a must-see.
