Product Description

This work is about the origin and purpose of existence. It sets out the Divine scheme of four interconnected universes that make up the macrocosm of angelics, demonics and the creatures of the Earth as well as the place and function of humanity. This is a modern synthesis of the ancient and medieval Kabbalistic perspective of the "Divine Plan". Many diagrams and illustrations open doors into the text making it more accessible to readers.

This new edition of Halevi's Kabbalistic Universe is peppered with images and captions added by the author and which lift the book to another level. It's not one of Halevi's easiest books to read but the mystical and Kabbalistic knowledge within it are worth the effort. Halevi's combination of ancient wisdom and original thought are unique.
Worth getting a copy even if you have the old edition - those pictures are spectacular.

Comments on "A Kabbalistic Universe" 27 Feb. 2012

I have read many books on the Kabbalah. A Kabbalistic Universe is probably the best one amongst all the ones I have read. It is easy to understand and at the same time it is adequately detailed. Thank you Z'ev Ben Shimon for writing it and thank you Dr. Mitra Makbouleh for recommending it. Of course it is not a book that can be retained with one reading and I plan to read it several times, but it is very pleasant reading.

Not a book to take lightly 12 Mar. 2013

Someone had recommended this book to me last year. I hesitated about buying it because the sugbject of Kabbala has, thanks to Madonna, gotten a bit commercial over the years. There is nothing commercial or frivolous about this book. It's not a quick read, that's for sure. You read a few pages and you put it down and think. Love, love, love this book. Will re-read it after I finish the five other books I'm reading.

Kabbalah for beginners... 25 Jun. 2011
By Kabbalah enthusiast - Published on
Format: Paperback
This book is fantastic! It is very accessible to a beginner but still retains the complexity that naturally comes with outlining Kabbalah. Highly recommended. I didn't purchase my own copy off of Amazon because I was lucky to find one for very cheap elsewhere but the book is definitely worth purchasing.

Excellent Introduction 15 April 2015
By Edward J. Barton - Published on
Format: Paperback
This is an excellent introduction to the Kabbalah, written in easy to understand but rather profound language. Much of the book is devoted to understanding the correspondences and basic structures of the Kabbalistic tree - and the book is full of useful illustrations and information. One of the better "practical" Kabbalah books on the market.
