For those guys out there who are thinking that a flash diffuser is going to diffuse the light in such a manner that magically your hard light will become soft, I have bad news. This piece doesn't do it nor is intended to do such a thing. Since you don't change the size of the light, you won't get softer shadows. Its purpose is to actually convert your one-direction-flashgun to a bare-bulb flashgun.
There are a lots of great things you can do with a bare-bulb flash, since the light is spread equally in all directions, which means you're not limited by one direction any more.
The product itself is well built and fits the flashgun just right.
The light color is not shifted at all which is very good, although when you shoot digitally, you can always shoot a grey card first and make the adjustments later if necessary.
On the downside this diffuser swallows light. Comparing the histograms of two same shots (with and without the diffuser, on camera flash, direct illumination) I noticed an almost perfect match at 2 stops difference. I can't tell for other similar products but I've heard this figure is quite common.
The price: bargain! Grab one of this now, you'll need it!

A flash diffuser is an essential tool for the serious flash photographer - and even for the, like me, occasional flash user. The spread of light is made much more even with this fitted - and there is no colour shift from the plastic material.
It's a great fit for the 580EX II - the older 580EX flash as other posters have noted is a much looser fit. I keep mine attached to the 580EX II in the Speedlite's case. And the price is a bargain. Highly recommended.

Bought another make of diffuser first but had to stretch it then fight the thing on. My main concern being, why mess up £300 worth of kit for a £3 plastic cap. so decided to re-invest in the 'kaavie' based on other reviews. Well they weren't wrong. This one fits like a glove. Perfect for the MK II although I assume MK I users will find it a bit slack due to the smaller head.

Kaavie White Flash Diffuser
Kaavie White Flash Diffuser does exactly what it says on the tin. Be carful it does not scratch the flashgun though it can be a bit tight.

Flash diffuser
A relatively inexpensive diffuser that fils my Speedlite 580 EX 11 much better than the Stofen. The latter is rather tight and I did not wish to damage the Speedlite.
