The quality of machining on this quite impressive. The screw and nuts glide through the threads easily and the metal construction looks sturdy enough to hold the heaviest accessory you can pile on it. The sizing of the shoe might be a bit tricky for some. It went in fine on a Canon SLR but got a bit tight on a Panasonic camcorder. Alas, that just a minor problem that can be easily sorted by a metal file. Overall, quite pleased.
DO NOT USE THIS ON A GLIDECAM OR A SHOULDER RIG WITH ANY CAMERA!
The screw broke and was trapped/lodged into my 5D 24 hours before a shoot... I had to take drastic measures to get it out.
