I have to say, I'm a real SCOTS fan, but I found The Kudzu Ranch Somewhat lacking, and certainly not of the same quality as their previous two (mostly) original albums (Liquored Up and Lacquered Down, and Mojo Box). This twelve track album contains FOUR instrumentals, and considering the quality of Rick Miller and Mary Huffs voices, is a crime. The tracks which have Mary Huff on lead vocals is certainly the highlight of this album. I was excited to hear a Countryfied (would Country-Fried be a better phrase for SCOTS music?) version of Nirvanas' "Come as You Are," but it turned out to be an instrumental. The bonus tracks that are downloadable are simply alternate takes, and the better takes are already on the album. I would only recommend this album for the truest of SCOTS fans. If you're looking for the best of SCOTS, look through Dirt Track Date, Plastic Seat Sweat, Liquored Up and Lacquered Down, Mojo Box, and Countrypolitan Favorites.
