Found this product to be great value for money, I have terrible skin problems due to medication & Crohn's disease & using this coconut oil after my nightly bath has greatly improved my skin conditions :-)

This rating is for the whole process including product.

The first delivery was awash with oil as one jar had split. Amazon as usual were on the ball and quickly dispatched another package, no questions asked (by the way I highly rate the on-line chat as a very quick and efficient way of dealing with Amazon). Second delivery - Same result, one of the jars had split.
These jars are a fairly thin plastic and any rattling about in the box or getting squashed will cause a problem. Additionally, what hasn't helped is the weather as this oil becomes a very thin liquid when warm - it's normal state should be more of a paste.

Also the first batch had seals under the lids and the second batch does not. Given that this is a product for consumption I'm not convinced you can trust that the jar hasn't been opened as there is no seal to break.

In summary
-I cannot attest to the contents as we didn't want to cook with it for the above reasons
-You take a risk ordering this in warm weather - buy it in winter maybe
-Amazon have a great attitude to customer support and are very supportive of delivery problems
- Plastic used

So why the 2 stars? I't's a balance between inadequate packaging; untried product and very good customer service but mostly I dislike the type of plastic used - I don't think it is very healthy.

Maybe OK for skin treatment or soap making etc but not for eating - in my opinion.

I would give this offer 5 stars, if it were not for the fact that the plastic used for these jars is a category #3 (as stamped on the base of the jar to state the type of plastic used) which is a type of plastic that could potentially cause health problems. There are some safer plastics and it's a shame HTC doesn't use these as their coconut oil is great value for money. I shall stick to buying it in glass containers from now on.

Excellent - no smell or flavour to speak of when cooking, though eaten off a spoon it tastes a little like cream. Great for high temperature stir frying (more stable and hard to burn). Not quite as cheap as Tesco if your local branch sells it, but with free delivery it's a good alternative.

These just arrived (on a Sunday!) I ordered them late on Friday, so great speedy delivery! The first thing I checked was the use by date (April 2016) so all good there. The only thing I don't like is there is no seal or film/cover. Tastes good too!

Does not have any coconut aroma at all because it's not virgin coconut oil. But it works fine with cooking or moisturising, so unless you'd like a high quality oil with high MCTs in content, you can consider this.

I've tried a bunch of different coconut oils, including cold pressed unrefined organics and a few refined brands. This is the best of the lot. Cold pressed organic oils oxidise and go rancid quickly and are also not very healthy for use in cooking because of this oxidation process and its byproducts, though they're still ok to eat cold. One in particular that cost 6 times as much as the KTC oil went mouldy after being open a short while. In contrast, I've kept KTC coconut oil open and unrefrigerated for over a year without it going off or changing in any way. Because it's refined, the impurities and much of the oxidisable components have been removed meaning it is safe to cook with as well as use cold and on skin and it should last a long time.

Other refined oils are similarly priced but it's often hit and miss whether they have strange "off" smells caused by chemicals used in the refining process. These smells allegedly don't affect the safety of the product but I don't feel comfortable putting something that smells wrong in or on my body. I've thrown a few oils out for this reason. However the process KTC use to refine their oil must be good because it never smells bad, just faintly of coconut, as it should!

On coconut oil for skincare: It is very moisturising and easier absorbed than olive oil, but be aware that it is comodogenic - pore blocking - unlike some other oils like almond. Don't leave any residue of it on your face if you're prone to breakouts.
