I bought this for my adult literacy group. It doesn't really explain the rules of spelling but what it does is place words into spelling categories with simple instructions, i.e. Spell these words with "CK". While I was looking for something with clear explanatory rules, most of my students have rated it their favourite out of the books I showed them. It's good value too.

this is an A5 booklet with some tricky spellings and specific
spelling patterns.
You would need to copy them out onto some paper, I was thinking this
might have been a write-in workbook.
I have used this book with my thirteen year old who has trouble with spelling.
Its ok but theres better out there in my opinion.

This is a helpful little book which you can use at any time. I often use it for general knowledge and for teaching children about basic rules.
