*UPDATED/2013 Edition

Egyptian Sudanese-American Novelist Kola Boof has become
an enigma in the western publishing world. This book uses Ms. Boof’s own published letters, articles, essays and speeches to demonstrate exactly why CNN dubbed her “the most controversial woman in the world.”

From “The Rap About Golddiggers” to “The Authentic Black Man” to “The Bin Laden That I Knew” to "Easing Nina Simone" to "Defining Authentic Blackness" to "Billionaires Prefer Black Women"—all of Kola Boof’s classic essays are reprinted in this anthology in their entirety.

Using language that is scathing and naked, Kola Boof writes brutal truths about interracial love, defines who is and who is not Black, unflinchingly recalls her experiences with Osama Bin Laden, explores war and politics, her support for President Obama, colorism, sexuality, the art of writing, the art of sex and raising children.

We warn you that this book is not politically correct in any way. No matter what your race/class background, sexuality or religious beliefs, you are likely to be deeply offended and disturbed at some point reading this book. We do not recommend this book for persons younger than age 21.

5.0 out of 5 stars An excellent read 25 Feb. 2014

Say what you want about Ms. Kola, but I love her rawness. This woman knows who she is, and makes no excuse for it. She is very vocal and passionate about the things she believes in. I love her for that. Many people dont stand for what they believe in anymore. They dont stand for anything; afraid to be ridiculed or have the masses come against them. Not Ms. Kola, she dares you to bring it. You may not agree with her views (Especially her views on the demise of black Queens at the hands of black men), but you have to respect her.

5.0 out of 5 stars This Writer! 4 Jun. 2012

Kola Boof is a meteoric talent with a huge ego and a lot to say that frankly needs to be said. I love her work so much. This collection of essays left me breathless and giggling with sister-gurl nodding entertainment. I am also steel on cloud nine after reading her novel "Virgins In the Beehive" about the girl singing group. What an amazing book! Everything she writes has a unique touch. I highly recommend people read her novels and essays to get an understanding about many things facing black women and to see a rare lioness facing back at it!

4.0 out of 5 stars What can I say, I like Kola Boof. 30 Jan. 2013

I love poetry and haiku, so I think her name is witty. I don't have much of a problem with what she says. It sounds much like the household I was raised in. (Aside from a few small points). Not used to popular figures sharing my views. As a therapist, I do have some concerns, but that has nothing to do with enjoying her writing. I find it entertaining, politically provocative, and I have found myself quoting (or paraphrasing her quips. Soon I will have read more than half of her books. :( I was so sad to have completed all of Octavia Butler's writings just before she died. She is truly missed.
5.0 out of 5 stars New to Kola Boof's books 2 Mar. 2015

I just discovered Kola Boofs' writings and I look forward to reading more of her books. Kola is very blunt and honest about the topics she writes about and doesn't care who she offends, or if anyone else agrees with her. Some people may see this as a bad thing but I think its refreshing to hear from someone who's not afraid to rock the boat.
