I looked around a few places (such as Argos and Halfords) before coming to Amazon for a child's bike trailer. Some trailers do not come with the optional handlebar and front wheel needed to convert the bike trailer into a jogging buggy (so you may have to buy this separately). This model comes supplied with the handlebar and front wheel though. It was almost half the price (including delivery) of the next cheapest model for sale here on Amazon and thirty pounds cheaper than Halford's SINGLE child bike trailer.
This model is a DOUBLE child trailer/buggy, but of course, you can use it with only one child in it as the strap system (5 point) for securing your child into the seat is very flexible - either 2 children side-by-side,; or one child in the middle. I got this for my 3 year old, but before he came home from nursery, my 11 year old daughter tried it out, sitting in the seat and she had loads of room! I was also able to push and spin her in the sitting room easily with the buggy attachment, so it makes even 5 stones seem light to push.
The instructions for putting the buggy together were at best, a good laugh. I think they have been translated too literally from German and, as a result, they make absolutely no sense in English (and the photos that accompanied them were not much help either), e.g. they tell you to "invaginate the wheel..." I ditched them, looked at the parts and thought logically about where each part fitted. I wouldn't even put a bike together, but in the end, this was really easy and took me less than half an hour, including getting the wrapping off and pumping up the tyres. Helpfully, all the tools you need - one Allen Key and a small spanner - are included in the box.
The whole trailer came almost flat-packed and the wheels click on and off very simply - most of the trailer/buggy's parts do (once you get used to them) so this would likely be ideal for putting in a large boot and taking e.g. to the park or on holiday.
The material is lovely and bright and much the same quality as the 2 3-wheeler strollers I have had in the past. The velcro fastenings are strong and plentiful. The buggy has a insect net screet and a raincover, both of which can roll right up for getting in and out easily. There is plenty of leg room and storage behind the seats.
In trailer mode, the wheels have side bars which act as wheel guards - this makes the trailer quite wide (it is already double buggy width afterall), but you can take these off very easily with push-button clips.
The front wheel and handlebars are easy to put on, although the brake is the only bugbear I have with this model - the brake works the front wheel only and functions exactly like a bike brake (calliper brake). That is, when in buggy mode, you can stop the buggy when you are jogging along by squeezing the brake with your hand, like you would to stop a bike. This seems utterly pointless to me - you can just stop running and pull the buggy to a stop! Again, this silly caliper handbrake is the ONLY brake. There is no parking brake at all. A buggy with no parking brake isn't ideal. However, this is a feature of more expensive trailers too and doesn't affect the trailer mode.
This buggy-trailer, from this seller, is amazing value and made a jogger-trailer affordable for me. It is much better quality than some of the more expensive trailers. It's very sturdy, robust and easy to push. I'm delighted with my purchase and highly recommend it. Oh, and my little one loves it too!
