Product Description

Safe, simple and effective method of cleaning between teeth and deep into gum pockets to remove debris and plaque. The Hydro Floss® system is not simply based upon removing plaque and debris from under the gums using a high pressure stream of water. Hydro Floss® is a magnetic oral irrigator, producing polarized water molecules which prevent plaque and calculus from attaching to the tooth surface. It's similar to putting a coating on the tooth surface both above and below the gum line. According to a study published on the Journal of Clinical Periodontology (May 1993; 20: 314-317) titled "The effect of Oral Irrigation with a Magnetic Treatment Device in Plaque and Calculus,' the group using an oral irrigator with a magnetic device showed a 44% greater reduction in calculus volume and a 42% greater reduction in area over the group using an non-magnetic oral irrigator.

5.0 out of 5 stars Kitty jet irrigator ; still the best 6 Feb 2008
This is the perfect solution for anyone with gingivitis or gum disease. It is much easier to use than floss or the little brushes that you push between the teeth (TePe). You'll be amazed how effective the waterjet is at flushing out the debris that lodge in the spaces between your teeth. And you thought your teeth were clean after brushing!. Once you see how much rubbish gets left behind you will not want to be without it. I have had mine for 4 years now. My previous unit lasted 3-4 years. They are very reliable . WaterPik (another brand) units offer similar features. The rechargeable units are OK but WaterPik suffers from battery /charge issues (keep the receipt!). If you want a rechargeable unit bear in mind the reservoir is small and you may need to top up mid flight. Among the best of the rechargeable is the PANASONIC.

Back to the Kitty Jet waterfloss; You can use warm water in the reservoir if your teeth are sensitive and add Corsodyl mouthwash for added antiseptic benefit.

5.0 out of 5 stars This machine is brilliant! 22 Oct 2009
Verified Purchase
I had a "Aqua Pik" when they were first imported from USA in the mid 70's, and it was a revelation. I had it repaired a number of times and it was eventually deemed unrepairable. I replaced it with a Braun Oral Hygiene Centre which combined an electric toothbrush with an oral irrigator. Once again very good, but when it broke down, it was too deemed unrepairable. I was not able to locate a suitable alternative until recently.

The Kitty Jet is without doubt the best of the three devices I have owned. There is more control over the intensity of the jet, and at its maximum setting, the jet is the most powerful I have experienced. I never cease to be amazed at the amount of debris removed by these devices, and therefore regard them as an essential part of oral hygiene.

I use either some mouthwash or a mouthwash tablet (from most decent pharmacies) in the water. This has the added benefit of keeping the machine clean. Using plain tap water tends to promote the growth of mould after a while.

4.0 out of 5 stars Kitty hydro floss jet oral system flosser. 28 July 2010
By Jayne
Great product that really works well, far better than the water pik which I have had for a while. Like other reviewers my water pik broke! The only reason I have not given this 5 stars is because of it's lack of portability. If you do not have a work surface near your sink putting this away twice daily is a bit of a pain as all the bits and bobs tend to fall off. But other than that i recommend this product highly.

5.0 out of 5 stars Effective and Easy to Use 1 Feb 2009
I looked into oral irrigators after some particularly painful and expensive dental treatment.

I tried the QuickBreeze Dental Irrigator in the USA, which I really liked. It was a good price, too. However, it connects to the tap, and wasn't compatible with my taps in the UK.

I first thought about the portable options, but the reviews weren't very good regarding battery life / capacity. So I plumped for the Kitty Hydro Floss Water Jet.

Although more expensive than most other oral irrigators, and perhaps not as powerful as the QuickBreeze, it is still very effective, and quick and easy to use. I use it twice a day, with warm water, after brushing and flossing, and it leaves my mouth feeling clean and fresh. One fill is plenty for one use. It is also sturdy, and comes with a handy bracket so that it can be wall mounted. Highly recommended!

My dentist noticed a general improvement in my teeth during a check-up in June 2009. Above all, she said some gaps that had been appearing between my teeth had become smaller. She asked me what I was using. I told her that I had been using the Kitty Hydro Floss Water Jet for six months, in addition to my normal routine of an oscillating electric toothbrush and flossing. She said she doesn't normally recommend oral irrigation systems, and liked to think that the improvement was just down to the toothbrush and flossing. But she advised me to keep doing whatever I'm doing, as it's definitely working!

4.0 out of 5 stars Kitty water floss 20 Jun 2010
I've has several Waterpiks over the years, but they either broke, or refused to recharge, after a very short time. My dentist recommended the Kitty and it does the job very well. It's a fairly chunky piece of kit so expect it to occupy a permanent space in your bathroom, although it can be hung on the wall.

It's not the prettiest design, but it performs well and after 3 months I'm satisfied with my purchase. Just had a check-up and my dentist says my gums are in great shape for my advanced years (56!), despite having been brought up on sugar sandwiches in a no-fluoride worldKitty Hydrofloss Waterjet Irrigator. Use warm water most of the time, then a capful of Corsodyl a couple of times a week.

Interestingly, on a side note the instructions say it's not to be used for ear syringing (the thought hadn't crossed my mind) but the nurse at my doctor's surgery uses an almost identical device for that very purpose!

4.0 out of 5 stars Effective and easy to use 16 Oct 2010
Verified Purchase
It replaced my second Braun flosser. It is more powerful and effective than current Braun versions (the original Brauns were more powerful, but they downgraded the power about 6 years ago). It is easy to use, works well and I'm very pleased with it. The downsides don't bother me, but you should be aware that: 1) very noisy - will wake anyone in a nearby bedroom; 2) you can't turn it off completely - it remains on standby, which is a complete waste as it is only used for a few minutes a day, so you'll probably want to plug and unplug each time you use it.

Does a good job. Possibly best device of its type on the market. Flimsy plastic holder that you place hand held jet unit into after use is very weak and easily broken. Read more

An excellent product. I use it most days and it is well built and powerful enough. You need a shaver socket over a handbasin.
