Book Description

Phaedra Conners has been in short supply of normal ever since she shoved a car full of explosives off of a parking garage. Domestic terrorism would be an unappreciated skill set on any resume, so she’s a little surprised when she gets hired on as the personal secretary of multi-millionaire, Gabriel Evans.

Her new boss isn’t your average CEO, and when he finds himself falling for his assistant he knows that he’ll have to let her go. Especially if he wants her to survive the week. However, denying himself turns out to be much harder than he thought it would be.

Phaedra has spent most of her life digging up secrets.

But not every door needs to be opened and some skeletons like to howl at the moon.

    4.0 out of 5 stars Good 3 Jun. 2014
    Format:Kindle Edition
*Reviewer for Paranormal Romance and Authors that Rock*

This is the first book I have read by this author so I did not know exactly what to expect but I was pleasantly surprised.
The story starts with our Herione, Phaedra Conners, a reporter, who unwittingly manages to foil a terrorist plot. From this she is pulled into the world of the mysterious Gabriel Evans, a billionaire with a shady story that the reporter in Phaedra can't resist. She is not expecting to find out what she does, however, or the danger that it introduces her to.
I enjoyed the plot. I thought it was original and well developed. I like when an author puts a new twist on an old idea and we have that here.
I do have a couple of niggles though, which is why I haven't given it the full rating. It took a little while to get going and the first few chapters had me unsure of which direction the story was going. I am glad I persevered as after this the story flowed fairly well.
I had a little difficulty connecting with the characters at times. We hear Phaedra's thoughts but not always the motives and reasons behind those thoughts. So even though she was quite a feisty character she seemed a little two-dimensional at times. Gabriel I did not quite know what to make of either for similar reasons. His actions were not always explained enough to understand his reasons. I am hoping this will be developed more in the further stories in the series. I didn't dislike the characters but felt they needed a little more fleshing out to help me really care for them.
All in all it was a good start to a series of books with a good plot, I understand it's a trilogy.

1.0 out of 5 stars Not for me 16 Mar. 2014
    By Deborah TOP 500 REVIEWER

When I read this book there wasn't a uk review but the 5 US reviews were all 5 star so I figured it must be good, right. It started ok, funny in places and to be honest it looked like a good book but then I just didn't get it, the story, as such seemed too long and dragged out, it didn't flow or even really make much sense, there was no chemistry between any of the characters and Phaedra wasn't very likeable at all and unfortunately it lost my interest fairly early on I even had a couple of breaks to see if it would help but it didn't. I kept coming back purely because I figured I must have been missing something but in all honesty I just didn't care anymore, reading this book had become a real chore and I just wanted to get to the end. After reaching 70% I just couldn't bring myself to read anymore since it really wasn't working for me and I couldn't care one way or the other about any of the characters.

    3.0 out of 5 stars disappointing 27 Jun. 2015
    By DD

Looked forward to this book as I like the paranormal story lines, but the writing style was disjointed and took ages to get into. Big disappointment was the book didn't finish it just stopped then new page saying continued in next book. Usually a book in series is a complete story in its own right, then next one is linked, this one isn't a complete, it stops almost mid paragraph.
3 stars as I liked the premise of the book and the characters, just not the execution. Won't be buying this author again.

4.0 out of 5 stars It is OK 29 May 2014

I got kissed by moonlight as a free download and I have to say I enjoyed it. I know some people didn't get it, but I think it depends on whether you like the main characters. I liked the story and the humour - it isn't the best I've read in this genre, but come on it was free!

    4.0 out of 5 stars Amusing 19 May 2014

I liked this book, although I didn't know whether to feel sorry for Gabriel or fancy him! He came across as a mixture of personalities. Phaedra I liked very much, even faced with extreme adversity she came across as fiesty with a sometimes sick sense of humour!

4.0 out of 5 stars Good Lighthearted Fun 9 Sept. 2014

Loved this book, it was funny and engaging. I found it well written and the storyline was easy to follow. The characters were well developed and I have to say one of the better paranormal novels I've read recently.

3.0 out of 5 stars Okay for a beach book 26 May 2014
    Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
There were some decent plot twists and a fairly exciting (albeit preposterous) story in the beginning, hampered a bit by unbelievable characters. Fizzled out for me before the end. Okay for a beach book.

I enjoyed the book, it was a bit slow to begin with but the plot then starts to take shape.
Not sure about the ending but I do recommend you read the book.
