Am on the emailing list from the label and as soon as they sent the info I was straight over here to buy it. Fully expecting a compilation of the best remix work of K-Klass, which is surely something most people would love. Great, got it.
What they don't tell you anywhere, either on Amazon, or in their own promo bumph is that it is a mixed CD, both CDs. It doesn't even mention it on the CD packaging itself.
Now if a mix CD is coming out and there is no mention anywhere of the DJ mixing it, then it is surely going to be one of those 'middle management' mixes that spill out of Defected / Ministry of Sound and into the bargain bin. A computer lined up, mixed by numbers, devoid of creativity and originality compilation, which this is.
However the masses will love this and it is a fantastic compilation. Pure Sharon and Tracey garage handbag stuff. An excellent stocking filler for Christmas.
Every cat and dog is a DJ these days and all of them (except for Peter Hook) will want an unmixed CD so they can make their own set. What I was after was an album of library reference classics from K-Klass, remastered too. This compilation is useless, the mastering is too bright also.
It's a shame, but the album is getting sent back. This is the first time that I have done this.
