I'm not a fan of crystallised papaya because I think it's has an unpleasantly chewy texture for not much flavour. However, if you need it for a recipe, this is a decent quality version of it and better than any other one that I've tried.
The colours of the fruit pieces are clear and remain stable, even when included in fridge cakes. They look very attractive if they're sliced and included in shards of white chocolate or as part of a cake decoration.
One of the best qualities of this crystallised papaya is that it is lightly coated rather than heavily drenched in sugar or starch unlike many of the comparable products. So, unlike other crystallised papaya, this is a pleasant mix-in for granola, trail mix, fruit salad, or similar items.
JustIngredients Crystallised Papaya rinses, dries, and slices well if you need to prepare it for a baking recipe and, as long as you make sure that the pieces are buried in the batter, the pieces remain firm and chewy rather than tough, after baking.
The crystallised papaya works well as a colourful add-in to mini coconut cakes.
