Bought this item for an elderly relative who has problems opening jars. Tried the item with Duracell batteries fitted and still havn't opened a jar with it yet!! Very tempremental about when it wants to work and doesn't grip the jar properly so spins round on the top without opening lid!!! Which is a waste of time. Take my advice don't buy this item.!!

IT JUST WORKS ELECTRIC CAN OPENER ITS O.K. AND WORKS BUT ITS A BIT FUSSY TOOK AGES TO FIND OUT HOW IT WORKED AND THE BATTERY CASE COVER WOULDNT STAY CLOSED AND HAD TO BE STUCK DOWN WITH SELOTAPE APART FROM THAT ITS OK

I bought this to replace a one touch jar opener, which is virtually identical, which I have been using for two years and never failed to do its job. Until I accidently knocked it off the shelf.
1.No instruction booklet mentioned on the packaging. if I hadn't had the other one, I wouldn't have know how to get the battery case open. It slide sideways, right to left when facing you.
2.It is ecessary to hold the button on to work. Unlike the original which just needed to be pressed and left to do its job [in the same way as the matching tin opener.
3.The design of the grips faces means they slip instead of gripping. I am working on improving the grip face, as unfortunately, the grips of this clone are not interchangebable. with the original.
4.I guess you get what you pay for.
My originla jar opener and the matching Can opener were a Godsend and never failed to work on the stiffest of lids.
