In agreement with the reviewer from Tring, I adore this programme, which feels so accurate for the period and is so engaging, funny, and gentle.
Some readers of the novels seemed unhappy with the characterisation in this series, but I love Oliver Rokison and the fine adult cast.
I think it's time the BBC stopped worrying about Politically Correct Audiences (how could anyone hate the "Just William" novels and TV series?) and showed these again. It would be a marvellous moment when both series of this fine programme were released on DVD.
... Can someone start a blog or petition on this please?

Having decided, that a radical cull should take place with regard to my existing video collection I reaqainted my self with the quintessentially english charecters of Richmal Crompton.
Williams comic distrust of all adults and girls especially, combined with his at times anarchic behaviour towards them only reinforces his stature amongst his male contempories.
The talent of the strong cast,Polly Adams, David Horovitch etc just go to show how good Oliver Rokison is as he scene steals throughout his many encounters with them and authority.
When can we buy the whole series, (12episodes I think) on DVD?

I absolutely love this adaptation of Just William, I have found one other video with 2 episodes on but cannot seem to find any more for sale, does anyone know where I can buy the complete series?.
