Amazed and Delighted 25 Jan. 2003
By Douglas E. Roberts - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Audio CD
My only previous exposure to the Cox Family was from their appearances in the Down From the Mountain tour and their gospel collaboration with Allison Krauss "I Know Who Holds Tomorrow."
I was a little surprised to hear a more upbeat "country" sound on this CD than "bluegrass" but I like both genre's and the CD is produced so well that that I really enjoy it! I was amazed and delighted that they seem to be stretching themselves a bit musically.
I would call it "polished" rather than "slick" as one commenter did.
Like another reviewer, I too am in love with Suzanne Cox's voice. She is not featured as often as I would like -- the whole family takes part, but that's OK. Everyone sounds great.
They harmonize so well together.
I am now looking to buy two more CDs from the Cox Family, that's how much I like them.

Another Jewel From The Cox Family 23 Sept. 1999
By A Customer - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Audio CD
I have enjoyed the music of this group for years, and with this album they have once again raised musical standards. At first it was strange for me to hear them singing material that was not gospel. But this recording is pure Cox Family. Beautiful harmonies, rich tones, everything you would expect from this talented group. If you are already familiar with the Cox Family, then you know what to expect from "Just When..". If this group is new to you, be prepared to relax and enjoy this wonderful cd over and over.

Gorgeous 10 July 2001
By A Customer - Published on Amazon.com

The Cox Family just doesn't make a bad sound on anything they do. First heard them on the "OH, Brother" soundtrack. I've now ordered all four of their listed CD's. Have loved Country music all my long life, and other music. This group is my all time favorite music. Hope they never change their style. I can't begin to explain what beautiful musicians they are. Please make many more CD's...!!

No bluegrass here! 19 Mar. 2009
By Dennis Ladd - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Audio CD
The head review says there's some hardcore bluegrass - not true. That must have been written by someone who has never heard bluegrass music. This is a country pop album through and through. I listen to their first two Rounder CDs all the time so I write as a fan. Despite my disappointment, there are some pleasures to be had. There are a few new Sidney Cox songs and two Del McCoury songs I'd never heard and that makes the CD worthwhile. Adam Steffey plays mandolin throughout and that is always a pleasure. Still, this is nowhere near a bluegrass album. It is country pop so caveat emptor.

Once again this family blesses the listener with great harmony and warmth as they sing and play from the heart.
