This review is from: Just Like the Ivy (Audio CD)
This album of "trad. arr." songs mostly has been put together by Williamson and Palmer, with help from Robin's wife Bina and keyboardist Dando, following the more satisfying "At the pure fountain".
It may very well be that all involved had a very good time revisiting the old traditionals, but sadly the results show very little of the class that Robin Williamson in particular is capable of in much of his other work. In fact, there are even some moments of agony, brought on by awkward harmonies and bad timing. To put it mildly: Palmer and Williamson are not in the same league as Dando and Bina in particular.
What's more (though less important): the artwork is awful as well. Several pictures of the four contributors are on display but none of them is even remotely nice to look at.
It has its bright moments for sure, but I would recommend this album only to the avid Williamson fan and the completist.
