I did a lot of searching around when choosing a stylus & eventually went for this one based on the number of recommendations & positive reviews I found. My first impressions were that it was a good quality item, it seemed very sturdy, I liked the size & weight of it & was very happy with it. My main concern had been scratching the screen either with the nib or with the aluminium if I held it at the wrong angle but this was not an issue. I was also worried that it might not work as well as using my finger but this was also not a problem, the stylus worked fine on both my iPhone & iPad & my iPhone has a particularly thick screen protector on it.
However one week after receiving it & having only used it a few times the nib fell off. Although I can push it back on it will never go back as it was, it just sits on the end & pops off every time I start to write risking damage to the screen. Underneath the nib is a flat circular protrusion of metal, the nib is only held in place by being wedged between this & the outer casing. I have found it impossible to get the edges of the nib to go back into this gap & don't feel that this is a particularly secure way for it to be held on.
I'm at a bit of a loss now as I really liked everything else about the stylus (hence 2 stars) but it is seriously let down by the poorly designed way in which the nib is held in place. I will be returning this & think I'll try a few of the cheaper options available.

Bought with hope as I had been told no stylus works with iphone.

I bought one of these for my girlfriend and I to trial with our new iPads. I was enticed by the desire to reduce the fingerprints on the Retina Screen, and, bring more precision to my on screen activity. Although I am satisfied from the packaging, case and quality of build etc. that I was sent a genuine AluPen, this product it isn't right for me.
Firstly, despite the logic of what at least one reviewer has said, in that, the size is clearly stated on this site, I found it just too big - I do have quite small hands for a male, but, am generally quite robust about things and used to handling gadgets. This product is also too "clumpy" and heavy despite being aluminium, and, largely hollow. I have no complaint about the rubber tip which does actually activate the iPad screen very well, but, in my view its' utility is impeded by the bulky/heavy body of the pen.
Additionally, the supplied case is quite unimaginative - there is no fitting to keep the pen/case together with the iPad, given the premium pricing of this product, and, the fact it has won a German "Red Dot" Award, I'm surprised by this.
You are probably wondering, well, how have I give this item four stars? The fact is my girlfriend and her work colleagues think this AluPen is excellent and believe my perception is entirely wrong. I have to accept I'm greatly outnumbered, and, it must be my failing that I don't get along with this product, hence, four stars based on all the positive feedback I've received from third parties.
