Put simply, Just Looking is the best song of 1999. Kelly Jones' raw mellow voice combined with excellent guitar and drums makes the perfect song. In terms of lyrics, this song is one of the best songs Jones has ever written. The song is supposedly about the theory that everyone has seven girlfriends/boyriends before finding the perfect partner and Jones brilliantly describes his opinions/wants/needs in the two verses and the amazing chorus. Track two on the single, 'Postmen do not great movie heroes make' has a killer backbeat with Marco Migliari providing an alternative set of vocals and track three is Jones' acoustic cover of 'The Kinks' classic summer anthem, 'Sunny Afternoon'. The eclectic mix of songs on this single makes it a great CD/tape to listen to.
