A posthumous collection of previously-unpublished recordings of Gordon Duncan's piping. Brilliant piping and brilliant tunes. Not just for piping fans - Gordon Duncan's tunes are played by fiddlers and other traditional musicians worldwide.

This CD is great on many levels. The first of course is that is Gordon Duncan playing. The second is that it is only Gordon Duncan playing. Listening to a master musician make magic happen is what this CD sounds like to me. It is hypnotizing and beautiful. He can still inspire us, even though so sadly he has left us, because of CD's like this one. Rest in peace Gordon.

This has some early and later sessions of Duncan. You can hear some innovative means of how he plays (one point stops and restarts the drones in mid-song). If you have his other CDs, I'd say this should be the next one on your list. If you haven't heard Duncan before, I'd say go with Thunderstruck or Circular Breath first.
