Thanks to television roles as diverse as Poldark and Rentaghost, Biggins became one of the best-known faces in television and on the stage. Yet the path to fame and fortune wasn't always easy. Although he knew he was gay, Christopher covered up his true sexuality, fearing it would affect his blossoming acting career.He even got married 'because it was the done thing.' He also had his fair share of adversity to overcome, such as his brushes with the law and his downward spiral into debt. But overcome them he did and fortune shone on Biggins when a contestant dropped out of hit TV show, "I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here!" and he stepped into the breach. His genuine personality, his appetite for fun and the gusto with which he approached the dreaded Bushtucker trials all endeared him to his fellow contestants and the public, who wasted no time in voting him winner of the show. Like it's author this book is candid and hilarious. It is a rip-roaring read, bursting with showbiz anecdotes, celebrity gossip and tales of a life lived to the full. If you like larger than life personalities telling brilliant showbusiness or theatre or television of film anecdotes then this is the book of the year! Christopher Biggins is a far more rounded character - in every sense - than you might imagine. His booming voice and sense of fun bounce off every page of this book - if you want a pick up then his joi de vivre will do the trick. He freely admits that he never took his life, or his career, too seriously (and neither, interestingly, did his friend Jeremy Irons). It's wonderful to read a book by someone who focuses on the good times, rather than competing to say 'my childhood was more miserable than yours'. Though the thought of Mr Biggins living in a caravan as a boy is a bit of a shock. Best, though, are all the good times. You can see why so many people want him around and why he's always flying off to some new party. Read this for the Queen, Laura Bush and Bea Arthur anecdotes alone. More please Mr B.

Full of trivia and name dropping, disappointing after having read Paul O'Grady's short biop. They both need to take a lesson in style, content and presentation from Julie Waters whose book exceeded all expectations and was a a super read.

Personally I thought this book to be nothing more than 'lets see how many famouns names I can drop' in a so called autobiography. I was very dis-appointed with it.
