Product Description

Jonas (Anders W. Berthelsen), is a crime scene photographer who lives a settled life complete with a doting wife (Charlotte Fich) and two children. However, his life has become boring and tedious and he craves to escape into a world of fantasy and romance. Then fate intervenes and takes a dramatic and unscripted turn when he inadvertently causes a young woman, Julia (Rebecka Hemse), to crash her car. Filled with guilt, Jonas visits Julia in the hospital who has awoken with amnesia, and in a bizarre case of mistaken identity both she and her family believe Jonas is Sebastian, her new, exotic boyfriend (Nikolaj Lie Kaas) they have been expecting from abroad. Repulsed by his own existence and comfortable lifestyle, Jonas assumes Sebastian s identity and plays the role as the man Julia believes to be the love of her life. A whole new identity and existence opens up to Jonas, however he soon finds out reality is not based on fantasy and exotic dreams as Julia s real love sick, demented Romeo finds them to claim back what is his.

I saw this at the cinema this weekend and am so excited that the DVD is being released so soon. It's an action-packed thriller that keeps you guessing and never loses it's momentum. The story focuses on Jonas, a bored family man whose life is turned upside down when he is involved in car accident. He escapes unscathed but the driver of the other car, the beautiful Julia, is left in a coma. Feeling guilty about the accident, Jonas visits her in hospital, and before long becomes obsessed with her. When Julia's family mistake him for her estranged boyfriend Sebastian, whom they have never met, he plays along with their assumptions. When Julia herself wakes up with amnesia and cannot distinguish Jonas from the real Sebastian, his deception continues. And when the real Sebastian himself turns up hell-bent on revenge all their lives will be changed forever.

This is an A-rate thriller that is a must for those who enjoyed Tell No One, or Hidden.

Jonas is bored with life, he has a wife (Mitte) and two kids and works for the Danish police as a crime scene photographer but he wants a new life. He wants to travel to Asia and work for national geographic rather than worry about a morgage and the need to buy a new car. He is given the chance to have a new fantasy life through a car accident with Julia. Julia has returned to Denmark from Asia on the run from her previous relatioship with Sebastian. In the accident Julia has lost her memory and her sight thus Jonas becomes Sebastian and is welcomed by Julia's wealthy family. A series of flashbacks begin to flesh out the story and everything is not as it seems. Jonas is a fool and a dreamer who pushes his wife into the arms of another man whilst living his new fantasy life. Who is Sebastian really and what did he do? And who is the bandaged man in the wheelchair who stalks the corridors of the hospital? I can't say more or I'd ruin the suprise twists and turns but it's hard to have sympathy for Jonas in the end because of the choices he makes. You cringe at the mistakes made by Jonas as he continues to dig a hole for himself and become lost in a lie. A strong cast with great performances and an intelligent yet complex plot make this a wonderful film.

Nicely done 28 Jun 2010

Unlike most Hollywood films - cinema from smaller nations with smaller budgets tends to be more imaginative and the story telling is more involving. Expect the Hollywood version, if there was or going to be one, to have at least 3 or 4 car chases and big explosions every 10mins...and the family car transforming into a robot.

This is a well paced thriller - nicely acted and I love the Scandinavian humour...
