This book is written for beginning readers. I found it to be highly unsuitable and in fact would not allow my child to finish reading it, once I saw what it was like. The book makes a point of using poor grammar and made up words, trying to imitate the speech of an immature child, as if that makes for funny literature. Since children reinforce their language skill by reading good literature, this kind of book will hardly benefit a child. Instead it will reinforce impoper speech that we try to teach our children to avoid. In addition, it doesn't teach good morals either. At one point in the book, the child says that it is all right to have to apologize, because you can say it and not mean it and no one will know the difference. My six year old child found it difficult to read as she had trouble with sight words that were not actually real words like bestest and 'cause.

I have read Junie B. Jones and some Sneaky Peeky Spying recently and in it, Junie becomes interested in spying on people. I won't give away the rest. Overall, I thought it would be suitable for five to nine year olds, as it seemed kind of too simple for me. I would have preferred it to have more content, and to be longer. For parents who are worried about Junie's bad behavior, that's how the average kindergartner is, and young children can relate to
Junie's confusions about the world and her innocent outlook. I did think that the use of poor grammar was going a bit far, and children might be easily confused by some made-up words. The Junie B Jones books also have good morals, like don't always take everything 'literally', be careful what you wish for, and that adults aren't always perfect. I liked this book because it made me think back to when I was younger. I agree with those of you with problems about the grammar. I think the book is funny enough, and improper grammar is no substitute for humour. I do however disagree with you about problems with Junie's behavior, because if Junie B. were perfect, then it would eliminate a lot of the funnt things that have happened to her. Anyway, nobody's perfect. Overall, I enjoyed it.

If you have ever thought about making sneaky peeky spying your business, you had better read this book! In this story Junie B. Jones spies on her grandpa and Mrs., her teacher. She finds herself in all kinds of T-R-0-U-B-L-E! This book is a great read especially if you read it outloud to another person. Enjoy this story.
