3.0 out of 5 stars Jungle Girl 18 July 2012
By Toban_Frost - Published on Amazon.com
Every now and again in the comics industry, you get a comic series that you can tell was written entirely so the artist to draw cool stuff he likes, that's a little different from the norm. In this case, an excuse to draw a bikini clad jungle queen, jungle tribes, dinosaurs, mermaids, and Oceanic, Lovecraftian elder gods. That's fine however. It's not going to be supremely intellectual work, but it's fun to read, fun to look at, and acts as a nice piece of escapism. Something to read on an idle Thursday afternoon, when you're bored, but don't feel like thinking a whole bunch. Besides, why not? The artwork is beautiful, the colours are vibrant, there's tons of fast paced action and humor. Pick it up, and have fun with it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Omnibus of a Jungle Siren 15 Nov 2013
By Leslie - Published on Amazon.com

In this action packed artwork by Frank Cho, Adriano Batista and Doug Murry, this omnibus comes alive with issues 0-5 of the mini-series and also issues 1-5 of season 2 of Jungle Girl.

If this is not enough there is a complete cover gallery from Frank Cho and Adriano Batista for your appraisal.

As you read the book, marvel at the artwork that takes you into Jana's world and imagine yourself being there with her if you dare. Would you be worried about her, or would you be thinking if you are going to be some dinosaur's next meal? You will not know if you do not obtain a copy for yourself, and your collection.

3.0 out of 5 stars Good, but not great 7 Sep 2012

I am a fan of Frank Cho's artwork so I thought that I would pick this up. However, Cho's art is limited to various collector covers.

It is decent enough storywise, a production crew lands in a jungle full of dangerous beasts and are forced to rely on Jungle Girl to survive. There is a cliffhanger ending that makes you wonder where the story will go next.

As a previous reviewer stated, it is good escapism, and I don't regret the purchase.

4.0 out of 5 stars Amazon's getting cheap on their packaging. 6 May 2013

Overall a good product. Great artwork on quality paper in a good binding. Fans of the title should be very pleased.

The main reason for this review is to further vent about Amazon's cheapskate packaging. I can't even begin to estimate how many books I've ordered from Amazon over the years, but until this one every one came in a rigid box that offered adequate protection. This book, however, was shipped in a lightly padded envelope that allowed the book to be crammed into my mailbox in a manner that allowed for damage to both covers and the spine.
