This DVD is a perfect illustration to why Julian Clary's Lord of the Mince Tour was a sell out, the length and breadth of the United Kingdom - and beyond.
Undoubtedly a national treasure - and not a modestly presented national trinket - Julian has the audience and viewer in stitches from his entrance on rollerblades to his exit, accompanied by dogs - and every minute in between, whilst recounting his career over 30 glorious years.
There is indeed a joke in every line, often more than one with the constant double entendre and witty banter - precisely what the punter is there to see. The mix of charm, wit and smut is perfect with Julian at his trademark best.
Finding that Julian has had his third eye opened and is now psychic had me sore with laughter, making me laugh time and time again.
Julian has a unique comedic style - anyone buying this DVD must know what they are opening themselves up to - a 5 star probing all the way !!!

Do not buy this .A total waste of time in my mind.Julian Clary can be a funny man,maybe he needs someone else to bring out the funny side of him as I certainly did not see any fun in this(well apart from when he was impersonating Paul O'Grady).

Having seen Julian's fantastic Lord of the Mince Show live many a times during its two year sell out run I couldn't wait for the DVD version of it - and guess what - just like the live show it has me howling with laughter for the entire 90 minutes.
Julian has a unique way to deliver the cheekiest lines which can only be described as sophisticated naughtiness combined with brilliant comic timing & a show which has been put together very cleverly et voilà you can easily see why he is one of the most successful comedians not only in the UK but also in Australia & New Zealand.
Perfect must-watch for a night in whether you chose to treat yourself, entertain your friends, need to exercise those belly muscles with a laughter therapy or simply need a cheer-me-up or some eye candy indulgence (at 50 Julian is looking delicious).
If you are looking for hilarious comedy entertainment, don't look any further as this is the BEST. I don't want to spoil it for you all by giving away too much - you just need to get this to see the Lord of the Mince in all his finery.
I could have easily done with a second helping in form of a Double-DVD. Can't wait for Julian's next tour & DVD. And to pass the time till then you might wish to read one of his novels Devil in Disguise & Murder Most Fab - oh yes, Julian's prolific too.

I went to see Julian on his 'Lord of the Mince' tour and enjoyed the show so much that I just had to buy the DVD when it came out, I certainly wasn't disappointed!
The DVD has all the things you expect from a Julian Clary show - filth, innuendo, double entendre - all delivered with charm and wit. I certainly wouldn't want anything else, and Julian is the clear leader of this style of comedy.
His standup routine is so funny, and appeals to all types of audiences - when I was at the show, audience members ranged from sixteen year-olds to pensioners - all laughing away at Julian's jokes! One of the key successes of Julian's routine is how good he is with members of the audience - he's able to put them at ease, adlib and make the most innocent of phrases take on whole new meanings! He even sometimes rewards them with a finger of fudge. ;-)
Buy this DVD to be educated about the infamous Norman Lamont incident, find out more about life in the country and learn about Julian's new-found psychic ability - you'll be amazed! I'd thoroughly recommend this DVD, trust me, you won't be disappointed!

If you like camp humour then this is a dvd for you. Nobody is safe from his off the cuff and ad lib comments. watching this is like a relaxed evening in. easy to watch and understand, totally hysterical and well worth spending money on to cheer yourself up. Clary in his element of entertainment.

From an entrance on rollerblades to an exit with his dogs, this DVD is packed to the gills with smut, innuendo and double entendres - but really punters, what do you expect when you are buying a DVD associated with Britain's Lord of the Mince?
There is a joke in every line and the Lowry audience certainly appreciated a visit from the national trinket aka Julian Clary!
This DVD is an insight into Julian's world of country life, chickens, writing novels, oh and being gay! He also exhibits a skill that he has kept under wraps until now, that he is psychic. In the second half he puts his mind reading psychic abilities to the test with hilarious results and the hapless 'volunteers' played along beautifully.
Julian's skill is in his seemingly effortless, charming approach. You take a sharp intake of breath, followed by a belly laugh - hard to believe that such smut can be delivered with such perfect diction! His Northern accent had me in stitches.
There is also a bonus section 'Mincing Matilda' where Julian goes to Australia and New Zealand in search of inspiration.
I found this DVD a perfect pick-me-up to the dreadful winter weather - Julian appeals to gay, straight and anyone in between. Go on, treat yourself and buy it, you know you want to.
