At home in Germany I could see the crossing of a little river under the Caledonian Canal. When I walked the Great Glen Way this year it was just raining at this point, so I decided to walk and not to look. I also enjoyed the great views from the air, the Canal with Ben Nevis and Loch Linnhe in the background and Neptun's Staircase. There's no chance to see the eight locks of Neptun's Staircase as good as from the air. Last year I walked along the Llangollen Canal. I had great luck with the weather. I'm now a little bit disappointed, that the walk of Julia Bradbury ended at the Pontcysyllte Aquaedukt, however you will pronounce it. Within the next 10 miles you would pass the Whitehouse Tunnel 174 metres, the Chirk Tunnel 421 metres and the Chirk Aquaedukt. So one star is missing.
