Product Description

Product Description

Nel lives with her mum in Cornwall and loves doing circus tricks, while Eleanor lives with her dad in Derby and likes watching TV and always does her homework on time. Except they're the same person and Nel/Eleanor has to learn to juggle both halves of her life, and her family.

From the Back Cover

Nel is a wild, hippy fourteen-year-old girl, living with her mum in Cornwall, who juggles and does circus tricks. Eleanor is a straight-laced fourteen-year-old girl, living with her dad in Derby, who likes watching TV and always does her homework on time.

Except they're actually the same person! The story of how Nel/Eleanor learns to juggle both halves of her life, and her family, as smoothly as she juggles the little velvet beanbags is both entertaining and moving.

Great Book! 27 July 2009
A Kid's Review
Format:Paperback
Nel is a teenage girl, whose parents are divorced and she acts differently around them both. She sees it as juggling two different lives. For example, when she is with her dad she is Eleanor - an intelligent, quiet young girl. However when she is with her mum she is Nel - a curious, loud and brave girl who likes to stand out from the crowd.

I am a 12 year old girl and I think this is a well written and thoughtful book. Overall, a brilliant book and a complex storyline.

A high-wire act 20 May 2007
Format:Paperback
This tale of a teenage girl, torn between her feuding parents, is a gripping rollercoaster of a read. Author Jan Page captures perfectly the anxieties and absurdities of teen angst.

The climax, which takes our heroine on a genuine adventure, is an inspired twist - I'm not willing to spoil the surprise; you'll have to pick up a copy yourself.

Written in the present tense, the story has a compelling, conversational tone that is at once beguiling but never distracting.

Beautifully constructed and frought with peril, this is a story that teenagers will relate to and fill adults with nostalgia for the romance, wonderment and emotional complexity of our adolescence.

Very Well Written Book 20 July 2008
Format:Paperback
Though not very realistic, i found this book both compelling and very easy to read. It is very lovable storyline, but after reading it one or two questions are raised. like, does Oriel actually love Nell? and would it really be possible to have such adventures? Or would social services not have a problem with a fourteen- year- old girl living like that? But putting those questions aside, and just accepting the book as it is, i found it a very enjoyable read, and a definate must.
