Product Description

A great new collection of poetry, wide-ranging in both form and subject matter. Full of Brian Patten's wonderful wit and moments of beauty as in GERANIUMS IN THE SNOW: Like children snuggling down under a white duvet Slowly the red geraniums Vanish under the snow. Brilliantly complemented by Chris Riddell's illustrations.

Format:Paperback
Mostly light hearted verse guaranteed to cheer you up. It reminds me of the Puffin books of humerous poetry in the 1970s when I was a lad. Amusing classics include: "Never play cricket with rats because..."; "Uncle Joe and the Roman Centurions" and of course "Juggling with gerbils". There are also some beautiful, and thought provoking poems such as : "The Soldier" and the two liner "What the mountain knows".

My children aged 9, 13 and 15 also thoroughly enjoyed it and I will be buying copies for my brothers (aged 45 & 48) and my father (ancient).
