The best Heavy Metal album of 2011, Anvil have delivered the goods in producing an album to continue their revival on the back of the now famous documentary film.

The songs, the production and the playing are all first rate, resulting in music that jumps out of your speakers and pins you against the wall, the musical equivalent of being bitch slapped by Mike Tyson. The energy released from this album is intense, and puts to shame the most recent releases of the big players in the metal world, such as Metallica.

If you think Anvil are just a "real" version of Spinal Tap, put your prejudices aside and buy this album, or even better catch the band live, they are a very vital and relevant band in their particular genre.

Anvil live are a living embodiment of self-belief in spite of the reality of the vagaries of popularity. In terms of their ability to carry on doing what they do in the face of adversity they have no equals and this in itself is definitive of being human.

This album is very well produced and contains a set of hand-crafted rock songs with exemplary musicianship, as you might expect from artists with original talent who have honed their skills over five decades. To listen to the album is to immerse yourself in old school metal which is as punchy and passionate as any of their 'modern' contemporaries. With elements of thrash, power and speed metal, despite not being de rigeur, it is top quality nonetheless. If you like your rock fast, loud and technically flawless then this is for you.

Wow, them old Canadians still know what a great album should sound like! Listening to Juggernaut of Justice kicks you with such energy that you can't just listen to it. It makes you wanna run and scream and jump and go cutting down trees in nearby forest just for the sake of it. The album roars the whole way through and after 50 odd minutes you can't really tell was it just one super song or were there 14 seperate ones.

However, it's not just the overall feel that is great here. Actually, most songs are true metal juggernauts in their own right and catch your attenetion immediately. The title track, Not Afraid, Running are the first that come to mind. All in all, to get a perfect overview of the album just listen to the last 70 seconds of Paranormal. They tell it all.

Previous Anvil albums have occasionally had maybe, 1 or 2, slightly worse tracks on them. Not so with Juggernaut Of Justice. This album truly is the bee's knee's when it comes to Anvil. They've never sounded better! Every track on this album is thoroughly brilliant, although the highlights are, in my opinion, Juggernaut Of Justice, When Hell Breaks Loose, New Orleans VooDoo and Swing Thing (Instrumental, reminiscent of Still Going Strong's White Rhino, but better!). Definitely worth buying!
