What a great little gadet this is! I use it mostly for garlic but have also used it for chopping herbs. The beauty of it is that you can chop a load of garlic - use what you need and keep the rest sealed inside the base for later. No more trying to wash out the fiddly garlic press. A great addition to my modern lifestyle Gromit!

This little food chopper is perfect for the smaller quantities we use (we usually cook for two only). It's well styled and should last for years; always nice to have good tools for the job and this is no exception. Good design ensured ease of use for right or left handed people; also easy to clean, which is very important.

I had bought this item after reading the good reviews. I used to grate my garlic using a grater. It did the job very well but my fingers smelt and it was tedious. I was looking for something to chop garlic and ginger quickly and easily. The Judge chopper does the job but it is fiddly and slow. It has to be filled from the bottom which means turning it upside down. I have it resting in a glass as it doesn't balance on its own, and then filling it as i peel the garlic. You then have to turn it round and press down for the blade to chop the garlic. This does take a lot of goes before you get it fine enough and is time consuming. There is no pressure on the hands though. It also chops ginger. If the grater didn't collect fibre from grating ginger i would certainly use a grater for the garlic and ginger as it is much quicker and finer. The judge chopper doesn't chop herbs very well. I like mine chopped finely and it doesn't do it. It is easy to wash though. Overall not very impressed as it is not time saving and is fiddly. You can't do a large amount either. The capacity is small.
