Book Description

As chaotic and violent as things can be in Mega-City One, it's all unicorns, ice cream, and rainbows compared to what you'll find beyond the outer walls… in the CURSED EARTH! In the wake of the devastation of “The Long Fail,” Dredd is forced to lead a small team of Judges into the scariest stretch of irradiated wasteland to recover the very soul of the city, which means, among other unsavory things, the Angel Gang! • Collects issues #9–12.

3.0 out of 5 stars Uninspired and uninteresting 2 Aug. 2014
By Squirr-El TOP 50 REVIEWER
Format:Paperback
The stories from issues #9-12 of IDW's Judge Dredd comic are collected as Judge Dredd Volume 3. I read the first episode of Judge Dredd when it first came out, and a couple of the Titan B&W collections back in the 1980s, but this is the first modern Judge Dredd comic book that I have read, and I am not impressed. The scripting is reasonably good, in that it serves the story well, without any unnecessary wordage. The art is a bit too cartoony for my liking, though it reminds me of Dave Gibbons from back in the 1980s. However, the story itself wasn't particularly interesting, and for the apparent end of a storyline, it is positively anti-climactic. If you have been following the story, then it might be more meaningful to you, but, if like me, you have come to this collection first - I found it in my local library - then you may be disappointed - it is definitely for Judge Dredd enthusiasts only.

1.0 out of 5 stars Worst Dredd album ever... 16 Feb. 2014
By Hebe
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
Unfortunately, this album is complete crap. I didn't even bother to finish it. Lousy story, lousy artwork, lousy everything. Volume 1 was Ok, Volume 2 was a slight disappointment, and then comes this abysmal Volume 3...

5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic Continuation of the Dredd Story 28 Feb. 2015
By MFormichelli - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
Judge Dredd Volume 3 continues the storyline from 2 with a vengeance. Not once did I have the desire to take a break from the story, and was disappointed when I hit the back cover. Duane Swierczynski captures the heart of the classic while giving Dredd a modern feel with a master's touch. I highly recommend this series for any Dredd fan, old or new.
