About the Author
With over 300 2000 AD stories to his name not to mention over 250 Daily Star Judge Dredd strips Alan Grant's prolific creative record speaks for itself. Grant is well-known to Batman fans following a lengthy run on various incarnations of the title. Kev Walker is the co-creator of Badlands and has provided artwork for Dan Dare, Judge Dredd, Harlem Heroes, Mercy Heights, and Rogue Trooper. Walker has recently finished an acclaimed run on DC's L.E.G.I.O.N. and has pencilled Marvel Comics The Eternal. Arthur Ranson has long been one of 2000 AD's most popular artists; having made his initial impact working on Judge Anderson, he teamed up with John Wagner to create the highly acclaimed Button Man series, and later with Alan Grant for Mazeworld.

This is the second Psi files volume and it sees Cass Anderson on a quest to find some meaning in her life after the suicide of her friend Judge Corey. Whilst this event is mentioned in the book the actual story isn't reprinted here unfortunately (it is in the 1989 Sci-Fi Special). Cass essentially traipses around the galaxy seeking enlightenment and encounters many weird and wonderful characters. There is also a team up which Joe Dredd would most definitely not approve of. The artwork is varied and at times jars you from the continuous storyline but overall I found it a good counterpoint to the more frivolous Anderson we all know and love.

I'd waited a long time to read the further adventures of Judge anderson and unfortunately it's not great. Only the 3 Ian Gibson stories from the Annuals have the sense of fun of earlier stories. Instead buy the "Psychic Crimes files" with wonderful Boo Cook art and Alan Grant back on form.
