Gorgeous, comfortable, organized, almost perfect 27 Aug. 2010
By SunsetDweller - Published on
If you are reading this review, are probably wondering if this bag is worth the $160 cost, especially since it is not real leather. I wondered the same thing, and having owned this bag for over a week, I can say yes...for the most part. The exterior of the bag gets an A for construction and quality PVC-free materials (warning: some scuffing will occur since there are no feet on this bag, but it can easily be covered up with a Sharpie). This bag also gets an A+ for style...I wouldn't even know it was a diaper bag if it wasn't for the the glaring Ju Ju Be front logo plate (wish it was smaller!). The bag I received (in black) had absolutely no flaws: the stitching was perfect, there were no scuffs anywhere, no tiny marks, the zipper was very smooth and well aligned. I pretty much always expect some sort of flaw, especially when a bag is produced in China - there is always something. Not so with this bag. The faux leather can best be described as smooth and shiny. It does not have the heft of real leather, nor is it buttery soft. The strap drop (about 9.5") is comfortable, though I wish there was some grip to the underside of the dual shoulder straps. The longer strap allows me to wear the bag crossbody (I'm 5'9 and strap extended long enough). The longer strap comes with a removable pad which has a grip on the bottom. I found the pad to be obtrusive and uncomfortable/dorky, though, and don't use it. The front pocket is roomy enough for a small square wallet or your iPhone, plus it has a smaller zipper pocket for essentials you need to keep secure (it would fit cash and a few credit cards). The interior of the bag is jam packed with pockets: 3 small open pockets on one side, 2 larger open on the other (both large enough for a few diapers or wipes box), 3 small wall zipper pockets, and 1 large middle pocket. The large middle pocket is the most useful - it is a great place to "hide" diapers. The smaller 3 pockets are less useful - they aren't big enough for sippies, are too big for my cell, too small for my wallet, and aren't elasticized so not great for storage for bulky items like reusable grocery bags or spare socks. I just don't have a use for them. The larger two pockets on the other side fit diapers and wipes, but since the bag is short, it can be hard to close the zipper when you put size 6 diapers in the larger pockets. The three small zip pockets are OK but I wish there were two small zip and one large, deep zip pocket that ran the length of the wall of the purse. The pen loops seem loose - wish they were pen pockets instead, though, since my pens always fall out of them. I don't use the keyfob because it isn't detachable - I hate having to remove my keys from the attached purse fob whenever I want to start my car. The side bottle pocket is awesome. Wish there were 2 bottle pockets, actually, since I already have a case for my sunglasses and don't need one to be built into my bag. In any event, this bag is nearly perfect: the only things I would really change are the pockets and interior layout - fewer pockets, and add few elasticized pockets for sippies, burp cloths, wallets, spare clothes. It is still a high quality bag, but the organization is in hyperdrive. Is it worth the cost? Yes. Absolutely. Just wish the organization was better suited to my needs.

Beautiful but not practical 3 Mar. 2012

I like to be practical and carry as few things as possible. So I wanted a diaper bag that would double as my purse. This is my second child, my first is 5, so I really only need to pack things for myself and the baby in the diaper bag. This bag LOOKS like a beautiful hobo-like purse. It is also not much bigger than my regular purse. The front pocket is unrealistic and would not fit wallets or wallet-type items, as it is hard to get into. To see if this bag would work for me, I put 3 NB diapers, a portable wipes container, an extra onesie, my nursing cover, a tube of ointment, and my check-book length wallet inside.....I couldn't zip it. So I am returning this gorgeous looking bag and continuing my search.

My perfect bag!!! 7 Mar. 2011

After searching high and low for the perfect combination of a diaper bag and purse, I have most definitely found it. I am not sure about you, but I have tried several other bags (messenger style, a purse I tried to double as a diaper bag, a diaper bag that was supposed to function as a purse), all without any success. The main faults I have had with these previous bags are 1) not enough space, 2) constantly "losing" things in the bag, and 3) not enough space!!! I am incredibly organized, and this bag is my dream come true! I love that the bottles go on the outside of the bag, and that they are securely fit so I can prepare one or two ahead of time and not worry about anything spilling (not that I worry, since it's machine washable)! I also love that I have a compartment for my sunglasses, since I am always throwing them in a purse and they end up scratched. I use the center pouch for a changing pad, a couple diapers, and a pack of wipes. There are tons of pockets in this bag--one side has two zipper pouches and two open pouches. Then the center zipper pouch. The other side has three open pouches, a zipper pouch, a stretchie key clip, and several pen/lip gloss holders. I have designated one side of the bag for me, and one for my daughter. I can stash my wallet, makeup, keys (others have said it would be better if the key clip had a detachable ring, but I use a carabiner so it's just as easy, plus I never have to dig for my keys). Also my coupon book, and a small notebook and pens for notes. On her side I bring a toy or two, formula in a travel container, teething tablets, and her little medical kit (thermometer, ibuprofen, etc). Plenty of room for everything, plus there's another pouch on the front of the bag that I use for my cell phone, there are also pockets for a few credit-type cards (license, insurance cards, etc.) Yes, this was an expensive bag, but in my opinion worth every penny (although it was a gift--even better)! I use it for work (I work in financial services) and when I am out with my little one. It's professional enough for the office, and looks like real leather. This bag is high quality and I am sure it will last me for years! LOVE IT!!!

Better than the PPB touring tote! 21 May 2013

Okay, I don't actually have a touring tote to compare but I did my research and the Behave has so many extra features. I mostly like the earth leather look as opposed to the PPB prints which are pretty but don't fit in with an everyday wardrobe. Even the hobobe has nothing on this bag. Surprisingly, nearly everything that was in my jujube BFF bag fits in this one too! And we cloth diaper! Great purchase, I just wish it came with more accessories like a changing pad. Also, yes this bag is expensive, it's not real leather so the price can seem kind of out there. What you're really paying for are the patented jujube features. It's machine washable, has insulated bottle pockets, anti microbial light colored lining, key fob, and oodles of organizational pockets. I wish it was less expensive but all in all, as long as it holds up over time I'm okay with having shelled out $$$.

Amazing! Incredible! Awesome! 14 May 2011

This bag is more than words can describe! I'm on the Pink Room and have seen sooo many photos of this bag before actually buying it. Upon receiving it, I was even more in love with it! The material is durable and every piece is nice and strong! This is not your average diaper bag! This is the perfect bag for the mama who hates the look and feel of diaper bags but can't deny that she needs one. There's sooo much space in the bag and the number of pockets is amazing! There is literally a space to put everything! I love how when I pack light, it looks fab and if I need to pack more than usual, it can take that too! This is truly a versatile bag! I have 3 kids of which 1 is potty-trained and 2 are in diapers and I can still use this bag! For those familiar with the Ju-Ju-Be quicks, you can fit a stuffed quick on one side, another on the other, and there's a pouch the size of a quick attached in the middle as a divider. So with it completely stuffed, it can get pretty wide, kinda like a duffle, but it doesn't detract or distract at all! I love the option to use the messenger strap when I need to be hands-free. I've read some people don't like how the tops of the zippers stick up, but I found that if you just tuck the ends in, it looks much better. Oh! I bought the steel! If you're the type of momma who wants a bag that'll match when you wear black shoes AND brown, this is the color you need! It seems to match everything you'll own! Trust me! Depending on how it is in the light, it can look kinda brown, kinda black, kinda grey....Get this bag! You won't regret it!
