When I smashed my IPod Classic a few months ago I was devastated. But this very useful machine has fallen into place effortlessly.
Not only does it do all that my old machine could it also plays far more files types both audio and movie.
The interface has very simple scrolled touch screens. File transfer is easy drag and drop. No need for ITunes or any other software interference.
The screen is crisp and the audio quality is wonderful, even when jacked through my car stereo it delivers a very clear pure sound. I listen to mostly spoken word whilst driving and this will easily show up any shortfall in audio quality.
The only fault I have found so far it that the games are, in the main, instructed and titled in an oriental script. But they are simple enough to work out, I have found a couple quite addictive and my children (5 and 2 yrs) have found a couple of the simpler items a joy.
Also there is a small amount of audio feedback/background noise when the screen is in use and you are listening with headphones.
All in all this is a great alternative to the IPod range. At approximately a quarter of the price you can't really go wrong. Also if you are concerned by the prospect of not being able to use your ITunes ripped music on it I can confirm that ITunes *.m4a music file format plays fine. Which for me is a huge relief as I have 30GB library that I would have had to re-import from my CD's. I do not know about files purchased from ITunes since I do not possess any.
I hope this helps.
