When I 1st saw this product at my local GAME store, I thought; "Great! Something to help my PS3 to cool it's engines!" But I was wrong.
The 1st thing that really stunned me is this "cooling fan" fits at the back of the PS3. Why is it unusual? Because the only part of the PS3 that really burns up is the (right) side of the console, & I presume it would fit there instead.
Further problems persists when you safely attached the fan to the back of the console (troublesome as you gotta take out all the wires from the PS3 in order to securely click the fan, plus since the PS3 is quite heavy, it doesn't make it any easier). So to test the fan, inserted a game, barely 5mins in, the console starts breathing heavy air, then another few more minutes, you hear clicking sounds (like 2 plastic sticks batting each other) & to top everything off, the PS3 starts reaking out boiling plastic.
When I switch off my PS3, I checked the side of the console, it was BOILING. Worst than when I didn't attach the so-called cooling fan. When I detached the fan, it was reaked with the scent of burnt plastic.
I was unlucky that I can't return my shoddy product (you know those annoying refund guidelines, if you opened it, you can't return it), so my advice to you do not get this product & save yourself £15. It doesn't do your PS3 or your wallet any benefits what so ever...
