herz is a cool writer but this felt too much like a bunch of journalism to me, no real insights. trigger happy by stephen poole is way better, IMHO the first really serious analysis of games anyones written.

Herz has got a winner here. I love video games and this book teaches every thing there is to know about the evolution of video games. Great book for the average game junkie. I feel a deep empathy towards her, I love the classics, I miss the classics. Great book!
