Chilton at his best ! 24 Mar 2001
By A Customer
Format:Hardcover
This is the sequel to the Red Planet, which itself followed the incredible success of the original Qperation Lunar. The return to the Red Planet in this sequel is gripping stuff. The Martians attempts to recruit the crew of the Discovery over to his cause, in order to save the Earth from mans pollution and environmental destruction has a haunting authenticity in our age of global warming. The use of television to hypnotise the public has become reality. The poignant speeches given by the single remaining Martian are still food for thought decades after they were written. As usual Charles Chilton has produced an intelligent SF Epic and landmark in the history of Science Fiction.

It's astonishing that this classic series seems to be still available to the public only on Cassette or Audio Download (both of which I have, and - more or less - happily enjoy). Considering the price that can be expected to be paid out for 'The Red Planet' on CD, this is a money spinner just waiting to be tapped - and, yes, I be among the first in line to cough up all those hard-earned pennies!
