i bought this book hoping to read a history of electronic music but it is basically a reference for certain albums and artists.The author tries to cover everything in one book but ends up just touching on the subject.One minute hes reviewing krautrock albums.the next pop synth.It would have been much better to deal with each music scene in seperate books.i find whole sections irrelevant and other parts informative,Im off now to write the history of industrial metal part 1.

This is not just a normal history book, charting the development of electronic music from early beginnings to the present day, but it also lists (and reviews) albums of the artists mentioned.
A reference book written with humour and authority; I might not agree with some of the assessments herein, but it's a valuable reference book and I will treasure it.
