Bought for a 9 year old boy who is obsessed with playing Minecraft. I thought this would be an ideal way to persuade him to not want to spend all his time at the computer on Minecraft. He loved the book and story, reading it to himself. The parts we got to hear of sounded amusing. It passed the test of being a believable minecraft story with lots of 'authentic' facts. It shows that the author knows minecraft well. Great for getting a minecraft fan interested in reading!

When I bought it I was expecting another rip-off but its actually quite a good read even though its short 138 pages long.

would recommend it to anyone who enjoys playing minecraft.

I started reading this book thinking it would be amazing.
I was wrong.
Aside from the many grammatical and spelling errors, the minecraft "facts" at completely wrong, unless the author has a different version of mincemeat that nobody knows about. Also, the storyline is rubbish. Everything seemed to be so easy - fighting the ender Dragon, for example. I know from experience that it does not take a few beds exploding and a couple of arrows to kill it. I am also wondering where the end poem went - surely they should have read that before that went back into our world?
Overall, I think that the idea is good but really everything else is bad. I do not recommend this book as it ruins minecraft for people.

My seven year old girl and ten year old boy (who is dyslexic and does not show any interest in books whatsoever) thoroughly enjoyed this book, there were cries of "just a few pages more" on reading it to them for their night time story.Hard to get them to bed !ha! My husband who does not get minecraft did not enjoy reading this story to them, but I must say I found it good as Ive picked up various terms from hearing the kids play on it.First time ever my son has been disappointed to come to the end page in a book! So that can only be good, maybe next Minecraft book he might attempt to read himself? If its this good Im sure he will. Definite buy for minecraft fan girls and boys alike.

This book was brought for a 9 year old boy, a reluctant reader but mad on minecraft. We recieved this book 2 days ago and he has not put it down since! In his words, it's 'Epic'. Every evening i get a full download on whats happing in the book and its given him inspiration to imagine himself in the same situation. He now wants to write his own stories! Also, it has given him a lot of tips and information about things he can do when playing the game that he was unaware of before.
An excellent imagination trigger. Highly recommended.
