Product Description

From the Author

'A Journey by Coach' sets out both the theory and practice of Unitive(tm) personal development coaching. The Unitive(tm) approach has been developed by Charles Bentley PhD over the last three decades as a result of his original collaboration back in the 1960's with the pioneering psychologist Dr Jay Stattman. Unitive(tm) coaching is unique in that it covers all four aspects of human being - thinking, feeling, perception and intuition. A holistic, person-centred approach, it works with the totality of each individual as a guide on the journey back to his or her own personal authenticity.

The Unitive(tm) coaching approach draws on several different influences, most notably humanistic psychology, including CG Jung and Carl Rogers, together with the existential philosophers and Eastern approaches as interpreted by Alan Watts and Ram Dass. It is essentially a present-day restatement, a re-affirmation, of an insight that has been part and parcel of human awareness since time immemorial - that the psyche (our mind and feelings) and the soma (our mechanisms for perceiving and reacting to the physical world), are indivisible.

As well as serving as a thought-provoking guide to personal development for the general reader, 'A Journey by Coach' is also recommended reading for existing coaches who are looking to expand and develop their professional approach.
