I was given this book over four years ago, by a young woman in the church at my alma mater. When she handed it to me, she told me many people she knew had read it, and it changed their lives. I was going through a period of spiritual despair, and reading this book not only pulled me out of such a dark place, but it gave me a direction and focus on Christ I never had before. As the years have gone on, I have come to understand that I am called to the ministry, and have even been blessed by God to meet the humble priest who wrote this book. He speaks just as he writes, making a few simple comments, elaborating ever so slightly, then leaving you with your own thoughts to expand upon. After speaking with Father Girzone, I now know that I must devote my studies and eventual ministry to understanding Christ as a person, and bringing this understanding forth for all willing to listen. May God continue to bless Father Girzone as he receives further glimpses into the Divine.

I have read this book over and over since buying it on holiday in 1996, I was in Orlando Florida in a shop called Books a Million, saw a few Joshua books but only bought this in case it wasn't very good.
Its more than good, it brought me closer to God as I could imagine Jesus in such a human and personal way that I never could before.
I don't see how anyone could be offended by it unless they are SUPER sensistive and ready for an arguement (nothing new there, the church is full of people like that)
Since 1996 I combed bookshops in the UK without success until finding Amazon. Now I am eagerly awaiting "Joshua the homecoming" having read every other book in the series

This book is simple to read, yet incredibly captivating and compelling. I have just finished reading it (and I quite literally could not put it down), and I am already purchasing several copies as gifts. It has affected me so profoundly that it is hard to find the words. The book takes the classic question "What would Jesus do?" and opens one's eyes and heart to the possibilities. I would recommend this book to Christian, Jew or agnostic alike, and believe all could benefit from its insightful story.

Excellent fictional account of what could have occurred.
